Derek Nash – Saxophones

Derek has been a member of the Jools Holland Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004, with whom he performs almost 100 gigs a year. He has led Sax Appeal for over 30 years, fronts the funk/fusion band Protect the Beat and is a member of the Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion. He has won several awards, including Best British Jazz CD (twice), Best British Small Group (Sax Appeal) and he regularly appears in the British Jazz awards nominations in several categories. Derek is an immensely talented saxophonist and is equally brilliant on soprano, alto, tenor and baritone. He always performs with incomparable enthusiasm and energy, his programmes that incorporate a range of styles, often include some of his own excellent compositions and invariably enthral all present.
Derek will be accompanied by the Googlies Quartet: Bill Yeomans, saxophones & flute, Hilary Cameron piano, Wally Shaw bass and John Jarvis drums.
