Allison Neale was born in Seattle, USA, and raised in Northamptonshire.  She started playing by ear at an early age, assimilating the stylistic approach of many players, but above all Paul Desmond and Art Pepper, with whom she still has a particular affinity. Allison spent her formative years playing alto in the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra where she had the opportunity to perform with many leading international artists. Holding the flute chair in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra between 1996 and 1998 propelled her development and in no time at all Allison was a well sought-after musician. An extremely melodic & lyrical approach to jazz gives Allison a wide appeal and we welcome very much her return to Googlies. To quote Dave Gelly in the Observer “Allison Neale plays the alto saxophone with a tone so light and airy it positively melts at the edges”. Her CD ‘I Wished on the Moon’ received several rave reviews.
