Martin Shaw, is regarded as one of UK’s top jazz trumpeters. He plays in a wide range of settings, from big band to quartet, cutting edge jazz to contemporary pop and funk.

Martin studied classical trumpet and jazz at the Royal Academy of Music and also at Berklee College of Music in Boston, before returning to London to finish his studies at the Guildhall School of Music. For several years he was with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Martin has worked with many of the top jazz artists including Cleo Laine, John Dankworth, Peter King, Tim Garland and in numerous big bands including the BBC Big Band. Along with session and TV work Martin performs with classical ensembles and in West End shows. He has recorded, performed live and toured extensively with various pop artists including Sting, Jamiroquai, Natalie Cole, Paul Young and the Brand New Heavies.
