DESCRIPTION:An absolute master of the vibraphone\, we are delighted to welcome Anthony back to Googlies.  A regular with The BBC Big Band\, with Georgie Fame’s Blue Flames and Big Band as well as heading various ensembles of his own. Anthony performs with amazing dexterity\, musicianship and passion. His unique style has drawn influence from Milt Jackson\, Bill Evans\, Gary Burton\, Bobby Hutcherson and others. His long list of associates includes such artists as Charlie Watts\, Cleo Laine\, Chico Freeman\, George Shearing\, Guy Barker\, Benny Golson and Peter King. Anthony is jazz vibraphone professor at the Royal College of Music\, London and he is regarded by many as the most exciting vibraphone player in jazz today. This is an event not to be missed

DESCRIPTION:Martin Shaw\, is regarded as one of UK’s top jazz trumpeters. He plays in a wide range of settings\, from big band to quartet\, cutting edge jazz to contemporary pop and funk.\nMartin studied classical trumpet and jazz at the Royal Academy of Music and also at Berklee College of Music in Boston\, before returning to London to finish his studies at the Guildhall School of Music. For several years he was with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.\nMartin has worked with many of the top jazz artists including Cleo Laine\, John Dankworth\, Peter King\, Tim Garland and in numerous big bands including the BBC Big Band. Along with session and TV work Martin performs with classical ensembles and in West End shows. He has recorded\, performed live and toured extensively with various pop artists including Sting\, Jamiroquai\, Natalie Cole\, Paul Young and the Brand New Heavies

SUMMARY:Julian Stringle & Pete Neighbour - Saxes & Clarinet
DESCRIPTION:Julian Stringle (photo above) is a perennial favourite at Googlies. He is a local musician with a deservedly international reputation who has long been regarded as an outstanding performer on all his instruments – clarinet\, tenor sax and alto (and vocals). Julian has toured with top US clarinettist Ken Peplowski and he always brings out the best in those performing with him. In 2018 Julian was nominated for a British jazz award and in 2019 he won the British jazz award in the clarinet category.\nPete Neighbour is a highly respected clarinet and sax player. He travels extensively performing in his own inimitable style – ‘swing era jazz for the 21st century’.
