Simon creates jazz with immense energy and drive and has won several awards – BBC Jazz Award, Jazz Album of the Year, Best British Tenor Saxophonist, and an award for Services to British Jazz.
This evening, we are sure, will offer nothing less than another superb experience for all present.
A warm welcome to Derek Nash, the British Jazz Award winning bandleader, composer, arranger, record producer and engineer and one of the UK’s busiest and best jazz musicians. He is leader of six bands, each with its own unique sound and featuring some of the top jazz musicians.
Tim was featured for four years with Loose Tubes. In 2023 ‘Jazzwise’ published its latest view of ‘The 100 Jazz Albums that Shook the World’. Included was the Loose Tubes album ‘Delightful Precipice’ with Tim Whitehead on tenor sax.
Art Themen is a multi Award winner and he a firm favourite at Googlies, where he always delights us with jazz of the highest quality.
Vasilis is a remarkably talented saxophonist who plays with such passion and composure that his performances at Googlies are a delight to everyone lucky enough to be present.
Simon's enthusiasm for playing allied to a great technique and marvellous improvisational skills, enables Simon to produce jazz of the highest quality.
The CD ‘Dear Tubby H’ was reviewed in Jazzwise by Peter Vacher and he was so impressed that he awarded the ultimate accolade - five stars! Let’s hope there are still some copies available.
