Ian Bateman is a highly respected jazz trombonist with a career that has established him as one of the most in-demand players in Europe. His impressive credentials include performing with prestigious bands like Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band and Terry Lightfoot and his Jazzmen. Versatile across all jazz styles and an excellent sight-reader, Ian regularly performs with The Back To Basie Orchestra, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Echoes of Ellington, and various Jazz Repertory Company productions. His session work includes recording with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra and various artists at Abbey Road studios. Since his 1977 debut with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain, Ian has shared stages with jazz legends like Buddy Rich and Ella Fitzgerald.
