Josh Kemp is a saxophonist with a unique approach, a rich, melodic and lyrical sound whatever the context. He has been described by Jazzwise as ‘a fierce talent’ and Time Out praised his ‘subtle highly nuanced and original sound’. He has released several CDs of original compositions to widespread acclaim.

Josh plays in FUNKESSENCE the groove: reborn – the band was reviewed recently as follows: ‘blues, soul, deep grooves featuring Lily Dior on vocals. Get up and get down to the fine beat of London’s funkiest groovesters. With a repertoire from Ray Charles to Aretha Franklin, Motown, Funk and Blues they deliver a punchy groove from the heart and soul’. 

There are great videos on his website at the 606 Club and the Vortex. So far, Josh has played at Googlies twice – both performances were brilliant and he received a rousing reception. We are delighted to welcome Josh back to Googlies.
