In Karen we welcome back a saxophonist of great sensitivity and ability who, to quote Dave Gelly of the Observer plays with ‘muscular grace’. She has won the British Jazz Award in the Tenor Saxophone category several times, enjoyed an extended spell in the band of the late Humphrey Lyttleton, and includes playing the baritone sax to her impressive range of abilities.  Performances with her own bands have received great acclaim from audiences and critics alike, her appearances at Googlies have always delighted our audience with her great sound, energy and creative approach to improvisation.  This evening, we are sure, will offer nothing less than another superb experience for all present.
