Geoff Mason is one of the UK’s finest trombonists who first played at Googlies nine months ago. It was an outstanding performance which received a rousing reception. Geoff has worked with many top jazz stars including visiting Americans Scott Hamilton, Greg Abate & Daryl Sherman and UK musicians Digby Fairweather, Derek Nash, Paul Booth, Steve Fishwick, Dave O’Higgins, Henry Lowther and Nigel Price. Geoff leads a Quartet and also plays in several orchestras including The Simon Spillett Big Band which celebrates the music of Tubby Hayes.

Geoff has recorded several CDs  and all received excellent reviews – for example international trombone artist Mark Nightingale stated ‘it is lovely to hear an artist pushing themselves technically and creatively, thus encapsulating the best attributes of a true musician and improviser’.  We welcome Geoff back to Googlies.
